Welcome to the Hartlepool RGT website.
We are a newly formed branch covering Hartlepool, Teeside and Cleveland and our dogs are kennelled just outside Billingham on the outskirts of Hartlepool. We currently have 16 dogs seeking new homes.
Greyhounds make great pets
Despite their reputation as formidable athletes, they don't need much exercise - they are in fact couch potatoes, only needing a 10 to 15 minute walk twice daily.
It might take a bit of patience for them to adapt from coming from kennels into a new home, but they are very easily trained. They are also very placid, and are generally great with children.
We do our best to match the right dog with the right people: as part of the homing process we undertake a Homecheck. It's not a test, and is as much for the benefit of the prospective new owner as the dog
There is no adoption fee, but we do ask for a donation towards our veterinary costs - all dogs are neutered and fully vaccinated before they are homed.
